Anna Sophie Manheim-Vitters

In 1928, Ernst Manheim married Anna Sophie (later: Ann Sophy) Vitters (*Osnabrück, February 4, 1899, †Kansas City, Missouri, April 5, 1988) in Leipzig. Initially working as a teacher, she took up her studies at Leipzig University in 1924 and earned her doctorate with a dissertation titled "[Lothar] Bucher und [Ferdinand] Lassalle (1848-1864). Frank T(ibor) Manheim

From this marriage came a son, Tibor Franz Dietrich (later: Frank Tibor) Manheim (*Leipzig, October 14, 1930), who studied at Harvard University (A.B. 1951), at the University of Minnesota (M.Sc. 1953) and at Stockholm University (Dr. phil. 1961) and later started an academic career as a geochemist.
