Oscar Adolph Oeser
studierte Physik und Psychologie an der Universitäten Pretoria und
Rhodes in Grahamstown / Grahamstad, wo er zum Magister der
Naturtwissenschaften (M.Sc.) sponsiert wurde, an der Universität Marburg
an der Lahn (Hessen), wo er 1928 zum Doktor der Philosophie (Dr. phil.)
promoviert wurde, und an der Universität Cambridge (England), wo er
ebenfalls zum Doktor der Philosophie (Ph.D.) promoviert wurde. 1924 war
er Lehrer an der Voortrekker High School in Boksburg (Gauteng), 1926
Acting Senior Lecturer an der Rhodes University, 1931 bis 1933 Senior
Science and Mathematics Master an der Dartington Hall School in
Dartington (England), 1933 bis 1946 Lecturer-in-charge und Leiter des
Department of Experimental Psychology an der University of Saint Andrews
(Schottland), leistete aber 1940 bis 1946 Kriegsdienst als
Geschwaderkommandant bei der britischen Luftwaffe und war 1945 bis 1946
Controller-General bei der Britischen Kontrollkommission für Deutschland
und Österreich. 1946 bis 1969 war Oeser erster Professor of Psychology
an der University of Melbourne (Victoria); 1969 emeritierte er. 1970
wurde er Leiter der Human Relations Unit at Western Mining und 1974 des
Human Relations Department des Cirnmillar Institute.
