Gramatneusiedl – The Peasant Village
Gramatneusiedl is clearly separated in two parts: in the north the
peasant village, in the south the Marienthal factory and workers’
settlement (Valley of Mary). There are only a few institutions in the
peasant village, which were used also by the Marienthal residents: for
example, the village hall, the church, and since 1885 – after the
closure of the factory’s school (opened in 1833) – the school of
Gramatneusiedl.
